The cradle of the ancient civilization of Tibet Shannan is the place of origin of the Tibetan legendary ancestors--a Raksasi and a monkey. The natural sceneries include the Great Canyon of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, Bayi Town, Huge Cypress Nature Reserve, Mt. Bon-ri, and its fascinating cliff sculptures in Nyingchi. It is a beautiful region with a mild climate, located in the low southeast of Tibet. Ngari, known as the Roof of the World', the facial appearance of Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar are sacred places, which are prime destinations for pilgrims of Bon, Buddhism, and Hindus.
In the traditional region of Kham, Chamdo is located to the east and boasts Karub Ruins of the Neolithic Age, some monasteries, mountains, lakes, hot springs, and other natural wonders are the main features of tourists. Nakchu, located on the astonishing northern plateau, is the seedbed of the early cultures of the ancient Shengshong Kingdom and Bon.
