Overview

The great spiritual spot of Lhasa is home to the Dalai Lama and one of the most hidden, beautiful untamed places in the world with its rich culture with hundreds of monasteries and chortens, which can be seen during your short Tibet trip to Lhasa. This trip will emerge you into centuries of a previously isolated sacred land. Our Lhasa Short Trip is aimed to introduce you to the wonderful land and colorful city of Lhasa with its exotic ancient mysteries and wild Tibetan beauty. During these 4 days in Tibet, you'll experience some of the highlights of this spiritual land and its traditions: mysterious nomadic peoples, revered monasteries and seats of power, spiritual wonders, and timeless legend and splendor.

The Lhasa Short Tour gives you an insight into the rich culture and history of Lhasa. You will cross the Himalaya range to Lhasa by plane, where you have plenty of time to visit the main sites around the town, including the Potala Palace, the Norbulingka (the Dalai Lama’s summer palace), and lying 2 km to the east Tibetan religious site Jorkhang Temple, which contains Jowo Shakyamuni, the most holy statue to all Tibetan Buddhists. You will visit other major monasteries in the Lhasa Valley, including Samye, Drepung, and Sera. For travelers who would like to find out more about Tibet’s long history and rich culture, there is simply no better choice. We will visit many 'firsts' in the area, including Yumbulhakang, Tibet's first palace; Tradruk Monastery, Tibet's earliest Buddhist temple; and Samye Monastery, the first monastery.

On the first day, after arriving in Tsedang, you should have a rest to adjust yourselves to the altitude for tomorrow's trip. You will have a one-day trip around Tsedang, including Samye Monastery, Trandruk Monastery, and Yombulagang Palace the following day. Today's Tibet Tour will be around Tsedang in the Shannan area, which is the birthplace of Tibetan people and culture. According to archaeological discoveries, Tibet’s history can be traced back 4,000 years ago. During the long development of Tibet, Shannan has been known as the cradle of Tibet culture, for it has so many firsts of Tibet. The Lhasa Short Tour gives you an insight into the rich culture and history of Lhasa.
