During the Annapurna Base Camp Trek 5 Days, you will mostly stay in the lodge up to Chhomrong. There are common bathrooms and attached bathrooms available until Chhomrong. If you would like to attach a bathroom, then the cost of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek will be raised. Above this village will be mostly dormitory-style rooms controlled by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project. Whatever the case, the rooms will be small and on a twin-sharing basis, with a not-so-comfortable bed and probably a few pieces of furniture. The bathroom will be common. Day-to-day

Annapurna Base Camp Trek from Pokhara Itinerary

This is the first day of your trek in Annapurna base camp. As the last day meeting briefing, your Guide will come to your hotel in Pokhara and drive to Samrong Khola (1790m), at one of the longest suspension bridges of Annapurna nearby Jhinudanda via Nayapul (1010m) taking about four hours. Meanwhile, you may visit the hot spring within 30 minutes of walking distance from here. From where your trip starts. The trail ascends through the village, and farm terrace along the stone steps trail. After 45 minute to one-hour walk, you will get into the most charming village Chommrong (2140m). Often, you will see the beautiful Mountain Machhapuchre, Gangapurna, and Himchuli from here. Chhommrong is the best place to have lunch and enjoy with mountain view, and hospitable people. The trail descends down a stone staircase to the Chhomrong Khola and keeps continues climbing to a small village named Sinuwa (2340m). We will stay overnight at the teahouse with an amazing view of Machhapuchhre. 

Day Highlights

After having breakfast. The trail leads us through the dense forest further on. Then the route travels very steeply down a rock bank through thick bamboo at the bottom of the gorge to Bamboo (2345m). Again the trail goes up along the Modi Khola and forest to the Dovan (2500m). Keep on walk climb through serene bamboo and rhododendron mixed forests nearby the Himalayan Hotel (2920m). This area, known as Hinko cave, was used for a porter’s shelter in previous times. Walk continue to Deurali (3,230m). On the ridge above Hinko is the stretch of trail that is subject to avalanches. After the Derurali is the risk of snow avalanches during spring and heavy snowfall time. So, you need to cross this risk zone the next morning. Stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day Highlights

After breakfast, the trail leads you into the heart of the Sanctuary at the Annapurna Base Camp for your overnight stay. The trail goes uphill for a few hours passing some roofless shepherd's huts along the side of a moraine - this area is windy and often snowbound. You need to cross a few places that are the riskiest of avalanches during the Spring time and heavy snowfall. So, you are advised to cross these places in the morning before getting hotter. The local people will open an alternative trail in the Spring season to escape this area. The trail climbs past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m), which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted. From here to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), we’ll walk 2 hours of trail offering superb Himalayan scenery with amazing panoramic views of snow-capped mountains surrounding you. The Annapurna I (8091m) mountain is the most attractive of the trip. The Annapurna Glacier near your hotel comes from the base of the Annapurna I. Likewise, you will enjoy wonderful views of mountains, including Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m), South Annapurna (7219m), Tent Peak (5,695m), Singa Chuli (6501m), Gangapurna (7544m), Annapurna III (7937m) and Machhapuchhre (6643m). The rest of the day you have time to explore around the base camp and relax at the base camp as per your interest. Don't forget to take pictures of mountains while sunrise and sunset time with golden color. Staying at a Tea house enjoying the natural beauty. 

Day Highlights

This is the most important day of the 5 Days Annapurna Base camp trek, which brings your dream real. If you have taken captured sunset view of the mountains yesterday, then this morning will provide you with another lifetime experience of Sunrise view. After taking breakfast and enjoying with scenery, the trail leads you down to Bamboo via Machhapuchhre, Deurali, Himalaya, Dobhan, and Bambo collecting boundless experiences. This morning we glimpse sunrise and the last evening sunset over Mt. Annapurna I, Annapurna Fangs. The unobstructed views of mountain scenery, which is very spectacular as it's totally surrounded by mountains. We knew to come to know why this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. After having spent a great time here, we retrace the journey back to Bamboo (2345m) for the overnight stay. 

Day Highlights

The trail follows the same route until Jhinudanda. Once we have passed Khuldighar there is an experimental sheep farm, the trail continues through rhododendron and bamboo forests with majestic mountains scenery, especially Mt. Machhapuchhre. From the ancient Gurung village Chomrong, the trail descends very steeply to the Jhinu hot springs, where you can bathe in natural hot springs only 20 minutes from the hotel. Today, we will drive back from  Samrong Khola (1790m) at Jhinu Danda (1780m) to Pokhara by Jeep. It takes 3 ½ to 4 hours by Jeep. The road descends to the Komrong Khola and gets to New Bridge, where you follow the river bank and through the forest. Here we see many trekkers, who are going to the finest trekking. now, the road goes through the rice traces and local houses. Then you will drive back to Pokhara for an overnight stay. You are free for your own destination.

The trail includes many ascents and descents through rugged and many stone step paths. So, for this trek, you are highly recommended to take enough training for a walk on stairs or hill climbing as it used to be. The trail is comparatively easier due to the higher limit of up to 4,130 meters. If you have any prior trekking experience, then it will be helpful for you to adjust to the environment.

However, if you are completely new to trekking, then you must have good physical strength to cope, steeply ascend, and descend on the stone steps. Do I need a Trek Permit for this trek? 

As the Annapurna Base Camp lies inside the Annapurna Conservation Area, the trekkers need to get an Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permit. Along with that, trekkers also have to get a TIMS card to trek in the Annapurna region.

Do I need to be aware of high-altitude sickness?

Altitude sickness is also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS). It is an illness that usually occurs during a high-elevation journey. Our ABC Trek Package will take you above 4,000 meters, which does involve chances of altitude sickness if not acclimated properly during the trek, and it can be life-risking if not handled adequately on time. Therefore, your ABC Trek Package must have enough rest days. Other than this, drink plenty of water, keep yourself hydrated, avoid alcoholic drinks as they dehydrate the body, and walk slowly. You will be fine.

Do I Need Pre-Training for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek has an easy route and does not include steep and difficult paths. If you are a novice trekker, then the trail can be a little challenging for you. Therefore, before the beginning of the Annapurna Base Camp Hike, go on a few hikes nearby. As per the guidelines, trekkers should begin training 6 weeks before the trip. Exercise to strengthen your muscles and increase stamina. Training mostly focuses on cardio, stamina, leg strength, and flexibility. But for the remaining payments on arrival, it will be best if you can pay by cash USD (notes should be dated/Series after 2000, older than this date is not valid to exchange in Nepal/Newest bills with 100 would be the best) rather than Cards, or any currency after your arrival. But if it is complicated for you then, we accept credit cards also (+ 4% extra charge on it).

Yes, the hotel in Pokhara is not included in the package, however, if you need help to book the hotel, we are more than happy to organize you an additional cost. You will drive back to the Pokhara Hotel at the end of the trek. 
 

Yes, light travel is the best way to explore. If you are coming back to Kathmandu after the trip, then you may stay at the Kathmandu Hotel or in my office. But if those extra gears need to Pokhara after the trek. You can bring with you the way to Jhunu Danda ( trekking starting Point) and can store the tea house. 

Well, as this is your private group, it is more flexible for you. If in case you would like to change your itinerary. So, we won’t make reservations at tea houses beforehand but if necessary our Guide will call the tea house. And other things, two people do not need to make a book tea house due to easy to find the arrival. But we pre-booked for a group trek of more than 3 people.

Annapurna Base Camp trek starts from Phedi an elevation of 1080 meters the lowest elevation during the trip and goes through the Chhomrong, Bambo, Deurali, Machhapuchhre Base Camp and the family gets in Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m). The day will be warm and sunny during the trip begging; about 20 to 25 degrees Celsius on average and the highest point at ABC (4,130 m) will be 5 to 10 degrees Celsius during day time and night and early morning will be 0 to -10 degrees Celsius.
