Overview

Jomolhari Trek is the most popular adventure trip in Bhutan. It is a combination of cultural, religious, and mountain scenery. Jumolhari Trek begins in the beautiful city of Paro, where you will visit most attraction sites around Paro Valley, including the famous Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery.

The Jomolhari Trek goes through the remote countryside at the foot of the Himalayas. This trip is organized as a camping trip, where you will have meals and stay overnight in a tented camp, the site surrounded by nature beauties. During the Jumolhari trip, you will spend the night at Drukgyel Dzong (Paro), Shana, Soi Thangthangka, Jangothang Base Camp (4050 m), Jangothang, Dhumzo Chhu, Thombu Shong, and back to Shana, Drugyel Dzong, and Paro. The trail goes through the Himalaya plateau with high passes: Bonte La (4890 m), Dhunge La (4700 m), and Tagulun La (4540 m).. As this is an adventure trip at a high altitude, we recommend it only for adventure travelers who like to explore wilderness in the Himalayan and nature scenery. You will see different vegetation, from richly forested valleys to high alpine pastureland where Yak herders graze their animals. Heard of The Blue Ship can be seen and glacier marine, mountain scenery, and glacier lakes are amazing.

During the Jomolhari trek, you will have streaking views of Mount Jichu Drake (6989 m), Tshrim Khang (6789 m), Jumolhari/Chomolhari Mountain (7314 m), and other mountains beyond Bhutan, like Kanchanjungha, Makalu's spectacular view. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September and October) are best for the Jumolhari trek. April and May are the best times for rhododendron blooms, whereas Bhutan observes its biggest festivals during this time. We at Nepal Mother House are glad to organize the Jumolhari trip according to your requirements and time schedule.
