Overview

Annapurna Sunrise trekking is an easy walk through the countryside with rhododendron forests and cultural villages. This is a colorful short trip to the Annapurna region with amazing scenery of mountains. Poon Hill (3210 m) is the highest elevation of the entire trip, where you have a magnificent panoramic view during sunrise and rise.

The Annapurna Sunrise Trek reveals some of the best views and is considered by many to be the best viewpoint in the entire Annapurna area. For most of the trip, you have spectacular mountain scenery, crossing through charming villages inhabited by the Magar, Gurung, and Bahun, Kshtrai communities. The people here are very friendly, with a lot of humor and great hospitality for the guests. So, you can feel at home with your family after these people behave, even if you are outside of your country. For the most part, the trail goes through incredibly dense forests of rhododendrons and deep subtropical valleys with the sound of birds, and sometimes you can see deer and monkeys. If you visit during the spring, the jungle looks colorful with rhododendrons and magnolia blooming.

The trail looks red carpet paved while dropping the flowers on; you may feel someone is welcoming for some supreme person. You can’t imagine the magnificence of the splendid sunrise from Poon Hill that you will witness here, which illuminates the peaks of the entire range, leaving you enthralled. The picture is further enhanced by the presence of rice terraces, creating a photographer's paradise. At the climax, the sun touches the snow-capped summits of the Himalayan giants, Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Annapurna I (8,091 m), Machhapuchhre, and a network of other peaks that appear like magic.

The 5-day Annapurna Sunrise Trek starts from Ulleri and goes through Nayapul, Birethanti, and Hile after a 2- to 3-hour drive from Pokhara. Then it goes through Banthanti, Ghorepani, Tadapani, the Natural Hot Spring at Jhinudanda, Landruk village, Tolka, Pothana, Australian Camp, Dhampus, and back to Pokhara from Phedi, making a short loop of Annapurna. We at “Nepal Mother House Treks” offer Annapurna sunrise trek itineraries in shorter and longer versions as per our client’s desires and holiday schedules. We run this trip year-round, employing only experienced guides. However, the best time is the beginning of September, October, and mid-November, and March, April, and mid-May.
