We trekked to the Annapurna Base Camp in September 2023. This is our second trekwith Nepal Mother House Treks. Thank you Karna for making all our arrangements and for accommodating our last-minute changes. From picking us up at the airport, briefing us on our trek, and to sending us off at the end of our stay. Our guide Jayram was very helpful throughout our journey and picked the best tea houses for our stays during the trek. Not forgetting our portersDeepak, Ishore, and Ganesh who made our journey lighter and were great help and company:). We enjoyed the scenery and the trek even though it was challenging. Looking forward to our next trek with Nepal Mother House Treks.

Upper Mustang with Luri Gumba. I cannot speak more highly of Mother House Treks. Our guides and porters were a wonderful team who worked so well together and became like friends by the end of the trek. Our head guide Sabut was a ‘can do’ person who found solutions for us when the plane to Jomsom was cancelled and then when one of our party was unwell and needed to rest and rejoin us after a few days. The Upper Mustang trek itself was brilliant- the most beautiful arid landscapes, ancient villages, and temples, physically challenging but beautifully managed. Thank you also to Ronaldo, Kishor, and Shyam who took such great care of us.

Organisiert durch Nepal Mother House Treks haben mein Freund und ich im Mai 2023 eine wunderschöne Zeit auf dem Manaslu Circuit + Tsum Valley Trek

Verbracht. Auf der insgesamt dreiwöchigen Reise haben wir uns durch unseren Guide Suman immer bestens betreut und begleitet gefühlt. Angefangen bei der Abholung vom Flughafen in Kathmandu und seiner Unterstützung bei den letzten Reisevorbereitungen und Einkäufen hat sich Suman sehr gut um uns gekümmert und ist auf all unsere Wünsche eingegangen.

In den Unterkünften entlang der Wanderung hat Suman uns immer das schönste Zimmer mit der besten Aussicht organisiert. Auch bei den Mahlzeiten hat er immer dafür gesorgt, dass wir trotz großem Hunger ausreichend satt geworden sind. Weiterhin schien er gut informiert über aktuelle Geschehnisse entlang der Route (Wetterereignisse u.ä.) und stand telefonisch immer in regem Kontakt mit anderen Guides oder den Teahouse-Besitzern entlang der Route, sodass wir uns immer sicher mit ihm gefühlt haben.

Mein Freund lag zweimal mit Fieber im Bett und auch dabei hat sich Suman rührend um ihn gekümmert, ihm sogar das Essen und Tee ans Bett gebracht. Gemeinsam mit dem Teahouse-Besitzer ist es ihm gelungen, spontan vor Ort noch einen Porter für den Passtag zu organisieren, sodass wir trotz des geschwächten Zustands den Pass sicher passieren konnten.

Während der gesamten Reise hat Suman bereitwillig sein Wissen über Nepal geteilt und versucht, uns die Kultur näher zu bringen. Er war ein angenehmer Gesprächspartner, spricht sehr gut Englisch und ist gerne auch Mal zu einem Scherz aufgelegt.

Auch mit Mister Ranas Organisation der Reise waren wir sehr zufrieden. Stets geduldig und freundlich hat er unsere vielen Mails vor der Reise innerhalb weniger Stunden oder spätestens eines Tages beantwortet und sogar im Vorfeld der Reise ein Skype-Gespräch mit Suman möglich gemacht.

Nach dem Trek sind wir in den Chitwan-Nationalpark weitergereist. Mister Rana hat uns sogar noch geholfen, Bus-Tickets dorthin zu buchen.
Falls wir nochmal nach Nepal zurückkehren, würden wir vertrauensvoll wieder eine Wanderung über Nepal Mother House Treks buchen.
Und allen zukünftigen Nepalreisenden und Interessierten empfehlen wir wärmstens sich von unserem Guide Suman durch den Himalaya führen zu lassen.

Organized by Nepal Mother House Treks, my boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Manaslu Circuit + Tsum Valley Trek in May 2023. During the three-week trip, we always felt well looked after and accompanied by our guide Suman. Starting with the pickup from the airport in Kathmandu and his assistance with the final travel arrangements, Suman took very good care of us. In the teahouses along the hike, Suman always arranged the nicest room with the best views for us. Even with meals, he always made sure that we got large portions when we were extra hungry. Furthermore, he seemed well-informed about current events along the route (weather events, etc.) and was always in active contact with other guides or the teahouse owners along the route by telephone, so we always felt safe with him.

My boyfriend was sick twice and lay in bed with a fever and Suman took good care of him, even bringing him food and tea to the bedroom. Together with the teahouse owner, he managed to spontaneously organize another porter for the following days, so that we were able to pass Larkye La Pass safely despite the weakened condition. Throughout the trip, Suman willingly shared his knowledge about Nepal’s culture. He was a pleasant person to talk to, speaks very good English, and likes to crack a joke from time to time. We were also very satisfied with Mister Rana's organization of the trip.

Always patient and friendly, he answered our many emails a few hours before the trip, or within 24h at the latest, and even arranged a Skype call with Suman before the trip. If we ever return to Nepal, we would happily book another trek through Nepal Mother House Treks. And we warmly recommend all future travelers to Nepal let Suman guide them through the Himalayas. I have used this agency twice, once in june/july 2014 for a trek in the Upper Mustang area, Jomsom to Lo-Manthang, and once in december 2014 for a trek from Lukla to Island Peak and EBC/Kala Patthar.

The company's CEO, Karna Rana is incredibly service-minded and is very flexible and helpful in the planning process, and he will answer your e-mails in the blink of your eye.

Nepal mother house will arrange domestic air-tickets and other prepurchases beforehand, so you don't have to worry about anything other than the weather, and when that goes wrong they will find a way by bus or jeep.

Absolutely recommended!

My fiance and I did the Everest Base Camp Trek with our guide, Jayram. We had an amazing trip and, from start to finish, Nepal Mother House and our guide did a fantastic job. We felt safe and knew there was always a plan in place in case something went wrong. Our guide brought extra snacks, spotted wildlife, kept us on track, planned plenty of breaks, and communicated with locals on our behalf whenever necessary. He taught us so much about the local culture and provided amazing service from the moment we landed in Kathmandu until we left almost 2 weeks later. Ask for Jayram if you can and do not hesitate to book with this service. We summited a big peak and got to EBC, two highlights among many. Thank you!

The communication with the office was always smooth and everything was well organized. I really enjoyed my trek of the Manaslu circuit and Tsum Valley with Pasang. He is an excellent mountain guide, funny, entertaining, and very knowledgeable. There was also so much wildlife he spotted which I would have never seen without him. During the trek, he proposed to adapt the route according to the weather, which was not always the best. This turned out to be exactly right and a sensible choice. In addition, he is a great ambassador for Nepali culture and explained so much about the different cultures, languages, foods, and traditions we encountered on our way. Here it helped that he speaks so many local languages, that allowed him to translate between the locals (not always speaking Nepali) and me. All the best and thank you so much, Pasang!!
 

We wanted to go with a local agency and we’re very happy we chose Mother House for our time in Nepal. They organised everything, our two treks Manaslu Circuit and Mohare Danda, accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara, all transfers, everything was perfect.

Our Guide Michael on both treks was wonderful to be with, informative, caring, and very positive. At times I found Manaslu and the altitude tough.
Michael always found us the best tea houses and the people and food were wonderful.

Also all our best to our strong, happy porters Ganash (Manaslu) and Sabut (Mohare Danda) who did an amazing job.
When we return we will use MotherHouse again. Thank you Karna for organising a wonderful trip.

I did the Manaslu circuit + Tsum Valley (22 days) with my boyfriend and it was the highlight of my 6-month backpacking. You walk around 4 to 6 hours a day then we had time to rest, read, and play card games with our guide and the locals. Our guide, Michael, made the experience even more memorable. He organized everything for us, from the accommodations to our custom itinerary. He brought us to some fewer tourist spots. We will definitely go back to Nepal to do another trek with Nepal Mother House Treks.

Everything from the airport pickup to the choices of accommodations (tea houses and hotels in Kathmandu) was flawless. The Tsum Valley is definitely not to be missed if you do the Manaslu circuit. It is less touristy and it gives you a glimpse of the Tibetan way of life. The difficulty of the trek was moderate but the views were stunning. Our guide (Michael) was always making sure we had the best option for food and accommodations all along the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek. His deep knowledge of the region made it easy to customize our itinerary as we went on. We had a great time with him, he was friendly and helpful.

Comparing to other companies, with got a lot for what we paid with Nepal Mother House Treks. You will definitely not find better than this.
