This is great news for all-mountain lovers, we just completed the Manaslu Circuit Trek after Earth quick-hitting. We find the trail until Tatopani (hot spring) is great. But the trail between Tatopani to Jagat at Yaruphat has been cut up by the river. It is not accessible by the main trekking trail, people have been trying to rebuild this. It will be open soon if no more things happen.  So, until mid of October, the Manaslu main trail will be open.

For this trip, we drive Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar on the first day, and on the second day drive to Sotikhola by local bus/ jeep and walked to Machhakhola and overnight at the tea house.  Then on the third day, we went to beautiful Uiya village at an elevation of 1745 meters from sea level. The view of the mountains and Bhudhigandaki Valley is amazing.  As this is a traditional village, you need to stay at somebody's house, a kind of Homestay. Here are not any tea houses like Main Trekking; this will be a great experience for Nepalese families to know their live hood and culture.  And your stay will be a great support for the local children and their school.

The next day you will walk to Jagat (1340m) via beautiful Dunlap village. The scenery is best here. You may stay overnight with Dunlap instead of Riya as well. The trail and tea houses are perfect above the Jagat, people here are waiting for your welcome.  We can see more trekkers/westerns from Samagaun for the Mt. Manaslu Expedition.  You can interact with the people of the Expedition. Tea house at Samdo, Dharmashala is open for the trekkers, and can see many Donkey caravans and entire trails to Dharapani.  Most Trekkers are curious about Nepal:

  • Is Manaslu Circuit Trail safe after hitting an earthquake?
  • Is Nepal safe after hitting an earthquake?
  • Is Manaslu Trek safe during the 2015 fall?
  • Is the Tea House at Dharmashala open now?
  • How is the trail before and after Larkya La Pass (5,160m)?

For all questions, yes the trail of the Manaslu circuit is safe. The entire tea houses are in good condition. Nothing to worry about staying at the tea house and having meals. We have some pictures, which will make you clear about Manaslu trekking.
