Due to its remoteness, Kangchenjunga is a less-frequented trekking route, that why it has much of its pristine beauty. There are two base camps of Mt. Kangchenjunga, sometimes people are confused about which trekking route is best to visit both base camps through the Sele La Pass. According to our experience and the client’s feedback, the trek batter starts clockwise, which means visiting the Kangchenjunga North Base Camp first and South Base Camp. But if you are looking for Kangchenjunga South Base Camp Trek then there is not any confusion only there is an option for the trek ending either at Suketar or Yamphudin and driving to the Bhadrapur for the Kathmandu flight.
There are various trekking routes for the Kanchenjunga Trekking. It depends on, where you are going to start and end the trek. As there has a road built way further to the Taplejung; you can drive by Jeep to the Sukathum for the North Base Camp and Yamphudin on the south side.
The Kangchenjunga Circuit Trek commences after we fly to Suketar at Taplejung from Kathmandu. Then the adventurous jeep ride journey goes along the Tamor Riverside to the Sukathum village/Ranipul/Tamewa, from where we follow the Ghunsa Khola on a less crowded trail in the isolated mountain region with the unique sight of Nepalese rural lifestyle and culture through the Amjilosa, Gyabla, Phale, Ghunsa, Khambachen, Janu View Point, Lhonak, Pangpema and get in the Kangchenjunga North Base Camp (5,388m). Then return back to the beautiful Gunsa Village process to cross the Sele La Pass (4,290m). There are some other miners' passes also, the name Sinion La (4,440m), Mirgin La (4,480m), and Sinelapche Bhanjyang (4,646m). There is a very basic tea house nearby Sele La Pass, if your day trip is too long for the Cheram, you may stay overnight. From here, the trail goes onwards to the Kangchenjunga South Base Camp named Yalung Base Camp (4,500m) along the Simbuwa Khola passes the tiny settlement of Yalung Bara, Ramche, and Okta.
