Nagarkot Luxury Trek Itinerary
Upon arrival at international airport, meet assistance and transfer to the Hotel located at Thamel, take rest and relax for the afternoon.
On this first day you will explore historical and spiritual attractions; including the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square; the House of Living Goddess “Kumari” and Kasthamandup temple” (said to have been built from a single tree in 16th century), Big bell-Big drams, Erotic wood-carvings in old temples and palaces, etc., Bouddhanath; one of the largest Stupas in Nepal, Swayambhunath; situated on top of the hill known as the Monkey Temple, it is one of the oldest Buddhist Stupa in the world, which has been registered as an UNESCO heritage site. Pasupatinath; a holy place for Hindus, with Sadhus and pilgrims bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats, located on the holy Bagmati River. After dinner you will be able to stroll along the busy street of Kathmandu city center. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
We drive from Kathmandu to the Sundarijal on the northern edge of the Kathmandu valley for about an hour by private transport, and start to hike through the Shivpuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement we will come across is the sprawling Tamang settlement Mulkharka. The trail continues on a gentle climb through the forests ridges before it drops down to Chisopani (cold water) (2300m) situated on the ridge from where you can see countless snow peaks. The sunrise on the Himalaya, from Annapurna to Everest, is particularly outstanding from here. Stay overnight in a Star category Hotel.
After having breakfast the trail leads us to Jhule through the Shivapuri National Park. During the hike you can observe remarkable terraces with a variety of crops in different villages and the life style of people and beautiful mountain views beyond the hills. The trail goes through the peaceful jungle, sometime ringing with the chirping melody of the birds and hutting of fox and monkey. This national Park is popular due to variety of flora and fauna and is close to the Capital city of Kathmandu. Sometime, you may encounter wild boar on the trail, and sometime black bears will terrorize local people, destroying their crops. We will stay overnight at Jhule Mountain Resort, where all the food on offer is the produce of their farm.
After having breakfast the trail leads us to Nagarkot (2156 m) which is a long day hike featuring Nepalese cultural village lifestyle and beautiful mountain views. After reaching Nagarkot, enjoy the sunset view and its offer of magnificentand panoramic views of many Himalayan ranges including the 8,848 meters top of the world Mt. Everest. Among many incredible beauties of Nagarkot, Sunrise and Sunset views over mountains are one of the best. Stay overnight in a Star category Hotel in Nagarkot.
We wake-up early in the morning, to see sunrise and the Eastern Himalayan views including Mt. Everest, and many other mountains. Then after breakfast we start trek to Dhulikhel (2100m). Treks leading to Dhulikhel pass many pine forests and rice terraces, and through Nala villages with many countryside activities. The Dhulikhel is renowned for splendorous Himalaya views, and for harboring many species of exotic birds. In addition the most attractive aspect of Dhulikhel is the Newari culture and tradition. We stay overnight at a Star category hotel in Dhulikhel.
Today, after having breakfast we start our journey toward to Namobudha (1982m), where the popular monastery is situated. Religious people often visit here for meditation and praying. Panauti is renowned for its Newari, culture and tradition, Indreshwar Mahadev Temple, and the beautiful landscapes which harbor many species of exotic birds that can be seen all around. After that you will return back to Kathmandu by private vehicle for a stay overnight at Star category hotel.
Today is free, or for last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until departure flight/drive. Nepal Mother House Treks assistants will transfer you to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
