Overview

This package tour offers you a real bounty of Nepal experiences in the limited time of your New Year and Christmas vacation. The New Year and Christmas Package Trip offers a unique design that captures the essence of nature's beauty, village life, stunning terraces filled with seasonal crops, and breathtaking mountain views. The New Year Tour Package is a mixture of sightseeing tours, mountain flights for up-close views of mountains, including Mt. Everest, wildlife excursions, and a fantastic Annapurna Sunrise Trip. You may celebrate your New Year at Poon Hill (3,210 m) with fascinating mountain views.

On the initial day of our New Year and Christmas Tour, our guide leads you from your hotel for an hour-long scenic mountain flight. You will view the snow-capped mountains in the closest distance, including Mt. Everest (8,848 m), and then you will explore historical and spiritual attractions, including the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bouddhanath, and Swayambhunath, situated on top of the hill known as the Monkey Temple, which is one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world and has been registered as a UNESCO heritage site. Pashupatinath, which is a Hindu holy place complete with Sadhus and pilgrims bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats, is located on the holy Bagmati River.

In the second part of the New Year and Christmas Vacation in Nepal Tour Experience, we head for the Chitwan Wildlife Tour, which begins with a 4-5-hour scenic drive from Kathmandu to lowland Chitwan by tourist bus or private car. The first national park, Chitwan, is situated in southern central Nepal, covering 932 sq. km, and was declared a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site in 1979. Since then, it has gained a lot of popularity among Nepalese travelers. The 12-Day New Year and Christmas Tour in Nepal offers a wilderness of rich ecosystems that includes mammals, birds, reptiles, and several species of water animals. The major highlights of this park are 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros and some hundred nocturnal Royal Bengal tigers.

In the park, you will discover a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines, of pre-historic rhinos and lumbering elephants, crocodiles, pythons, and deer; brilliantly colored birds; and, if you are fortunate, the superb Royal Bengal Tiger. The other animals, like rhesus monkeys, grey langurs, deer, leopards, wild cats, etc., share this home  In addition, another important factor of the Wildlife Tour in Chitwan is the colorful Tharu culture, their way of life, culture, and traditions, and their heart-touching Tharu dance. Not only that but here you have a chance for many activities like Jungle Safari on elephant back, jungle walk, canoe ride, jeep drives, etc.

In the third part of the New Year and Christmas Vacation Trip, the “Nepal Mother House Treks” guides lead you to the beautiful city of Pokhara for the Annapurna Sunrise Trek, which has the alternative name Ghorepani/Poon Hill Trek. This trek is a comparatively straightforward and short walk winding through Magars' and Gurungs' community villages and rhododendron forests beneath the majestic Himalayan scenery. During the New Year and Christmas Trek in Nepal in 2025 and 2026, colorful short venture trips lie around every corner! Reaching the highest points of your trek will reveal exciting glimpses of the high mountains and vast horizons. Poon Hill (3210 m) offers the climax of this trek as the sun touches the snow-capped summits of the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) and Annapurna (8,091 m), along with a network of other peaks. The peaks slowly begin to appear like magic before our eyes. An effortless trek, this reveals some of the best views in the Annapurna region. Every traveler who appreciates nature and lovely landscapes can enjoy the Annapurna Sunrise Trip, a rewarding trekking trail that takes you through vibrant orchids and provides clear views of the magnificent mountains.

Nepal Mother House Treks is a Nepal-based trekking tour company that arranges the 12 Days of New Year's and Christmas Vacation in Nepal. The business has access to a wealth of local knowledge, including guides, porters, and helpers, as well as necessary supplies, rescue and evacuation services, government approval, all employee insurance, and other fees. The first day trek starts at Nayapul after 1 and half hour driving by private vehicle from Pokhara. After a 20 minute short walk along the banks of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1015m), which is a large village that has many shops and teahouses. The inhabitants are Gurung, Magar and Thakali. Then the trail continues following the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola through villages, and climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hile (1495m). After a short climb, we reach Tikhedhunga (1570m). Today’s walk offers a short and comparatively easy day, allowing you to get used to the experience of trekking in Nepal. Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Day Highlights

After breakfast, we begin our journey with a steep climb to a large Magar village at Ulleri (2070m) after crossing a bridge. Then the trail leads us to ascend more gently, through dense forests of oak and rhododendrons towards Banthanti (2250m). Occasionally, we can see Lonmgur (long tail black mouth Monkey) jumping in the trees. Then we trek towards Nangethanti (2460m), and after an hour walk we arrive at Ghorepani (2840m). Stay overnight at lodge.

Day Highlights

We will hike about 45 minutes to Poon Hill (3210m) early in the morning; this viewpoint provides an unobstructed beautiful sunrise over the high Himalayas with panoramic views of the giants Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna (8,091m), Machhapuchere, Nilgiri, Hiuchuli, South Annapurna etc., along with a network of other peaks which slowly begin to appear like magic before our eyes. We come back to Ghorepani for a hot breakfast, and then start walking to Tadapani. The trail climbs along ridges with pine and rhododendron forests to the Deurali, and then descends through the beautiful waterfall, stream, and dense forest to Banthati. The stream has some clear pools alongside the trail. Finally, we climb up to our final destination Tadapani, meaning ‘far water’, and the water supply for this village is a long distance below.

Day Highlights

Today is an easier day, so after waking up late, we will have breakfast and then descend steeply through dense forests with breathtaking panoramic views of the Ghaundrung village, inhabitants of which are the Gurung people. But if you wake up early in the morning, the village offers excellent sunrise views with changing mountain faces on display from your seat at Tadapani. We will overnight here so have the afternoon to visit the Annapurna conservation office, museum and picturesque ancient Guring village, the second largest Gurung settlement in Nepal.

Day Highlights

Today is our last day of trekking; we complete our trek in Nayapul at elevation of 1010 meters, with short and easy walking through the terraced hill settlement. Then we drive 1 and half hour by private vehicle followed by a ride back to Pokhara, a peaceful lakeside city harboring a unique setting of tropical climate and vegetation with the dramatic backdrop of the Himalayas. Stay overnight at Pokhara Hotel.

Day Highlights

After late breakfast, we will start sightseeing around Pokhara Valley. Notable locations include ; Fewa Lake, Bagnes Lake, Devi’s water fall, Biswa Shanti Stupa (World Peace stupa ), International Mountaineering Museum, Tibetan refugee settlement, and Gupteshwar cave. We will relax the rest of the day in a Hotel, or you may do some shopping around. Overnight at hotel.

Day Highlights

We will be ready at 6:00 morning in the hotel lobby after having our breakfast, and offering advice as your trekking guide. We will drive back to Kathmandu passing terraces, streams, rivers, local settlements, high hills and along the river side. It takes about 7 hours (conditional) to reach your hotel in Kathmandu.
