Paragliding is a relatively new adventure activity in Nepal yet is a truly fantastic experience that any adventure lover will appreciate. Our paragliding Nepal trip offers you excellent scenic views as you fly near the Himalayan just like a griffin vulture, eagle, or kite would float over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes, and jungles. Paragliding in the breathtaking Himalayan scenery can be a truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for the adventure seeker.
The last three years have seen adventure sports flourish in Pokhara, and now it is an internationally recognized destination for free-flight enthusiasts. Nepal forms a rectangle on the southern slopes of the Himalayas and is, without exception, the most stunning country imaginable. Pokhara is the most popular spot for paragliding, with superior views of 3 of the world's 8000 m peaks (Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manasalu). Paragliding depends largely on weather conditions. The paragliding best times are between November and December, although the flying season runs from November to February.
Paragliding is additionally offered along with the Mahabharat range; however, it is more often done in Pokhara, the beautiful lakeside town at the bottom of the Annapurna Mountains. Paragliding tandem flights involve a pilot flying with a passenger. Both have separate harnesses (built for comfort and safety; they feel more like an armchair) that are attached and the wing. Once launched, the passenger just sits back, relaxes, and takes in the epic scenery. It is even possible to easily capture the scenery in your camera in flight. Due to the portable nature and easy launch ability of a paraglider (they fit into a rucksack), we can take them anywhere and fly them from most mountains in Nepal.
For our Nepal Paragliding Tour, we take a 20-minute jeep ride from Pokhara to Sarangkot (1592 m), which offers great views of Fewa Lake. If you want to try paragliding, you do not need to have any prior experience. We at “Nepal Mother House” will provide you qualified pilots who will give you a full briefing before your launch.
