The United Kingdom and the United States have lifted restrictions on their citizens traveling to Nepal.
The restriction was issued on October 8, 2015, for geological instability in Nepal following the Gorkha earthquake, the monsoon season, unrest in Tarai, and country-wide fuel shortages.
“Because conditions have changed, the travel warning was canceled effective February 29, 2016,” read a statement issued by the Embassy of the United States in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Based on a country’s local conditions and risks for American travelers, the US Department of State publishes travel alerts or travel warnings for every country in the world.
Likewise, the UK relaxed the restriction because of Prince Harry’s first-ever upcoming official visit to Nepal from March 19–23. Buckingham Palace has already revealed his plans to visit the Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares, Bardiya National Park, a mountain range view, and trekking.
