Nepali New Year

Ideally, people celebrate New Year by marking the end of the current year and ushering in the new one. The Nepalese government uses Bikram Sambat, also known as the Bikram Era, as the official calendar.  Bikram Sambat was established by the legendary Emperor Vikramaditya and is 57 years (56 years 7 months) ahead of the BCE (Before Christ Era/Before Common Era) solar Gregorian calendar. Who was born in Ujain (the ancient name of Tokha, Kathmandu) according to the "Nepal Birth Place of Kalidas Book" by Pandit Muralidhar Bhattrai (who was the guru of the greatest scholar Rahul Sankrityayan)?  However, there is still evidence that Emperor Vikramaditya existed.  Later, Vikramaditya's descendants moved to Madhya Pradesh in modern India and adopted the name of their ancestor's birthplace.  Likewise, other significant places are named also: Pashupatinath, Bagmati River, Dakshinakali, etc. The giant temple of Vikramaditya at Shankhu, from ancient times and Vedic sources, declared that Vikramaditya was born in Nepal. The New Year is called “Nava Barsa or Naya Barsa” in the Nepali language; on this day, the government of Nepal gives a public holiday to celebrate the New Year. All the government offices will remain closed on Nepali New Year's Day. The celebration takes place during the second week of April, a time when nature begins to bloom with new life during the spring season. If you watch this video, you will have more sources about it.
