We did the Everest 3 Passes Trek with Nepal Mother House treks. Although we booked for a group trek, we were the only couple, so we could enjoy a private guide and porter.
Everything before the trek (from email communication with Karna to personal meetings in Kathmandu with Karna and the guide) were flawless. We immediately felt that we had made the perfect choice with Mother House treks.
The trek itself was physically demanding, but rewarding, beautiful, amazing, unforgettable. Our guide, Bamseding, was very skilled and reliable. We felt very safe with him. He was very protective and made sure we were ok all the time. We were 12 days on our trek when the devastating earthquake happened. We were lucky to be in a teahouse the moment the earth shook. Also with the after shock we were lucky. After the quake, our guide got the news that his house was devestated... It was horrible for him. But his first concern was to get us back safe to Lukla and Kathmandu. He is a remarkable good man and forever in our hearts!
When thinking of taking a trek in Nepal, whether in the Everest region or in Annapurna, just hire Nepal Mother House treks. They are a local company (so the money goes directly to the people in Nepal, no foreign influance), they have a lot of knowledge and use the right guides and porters. Taking a 3 week trek is still one of the best decisions we have ever made. The Himalaya are amazing and we are glad that we chose for Karna and Bamseding.

I did a 14 day Tsum Valley trip with Nepal Mother House in Feb 2015. Karna responded quickly to all of my questions and helped me pick out the best tour. He was also able to organize the trek permits even though I was going solo. Once in Kathmandu finalizing arrangements and meeting the guide went very smoothly. The track itself was fantastic. Beautiful scenery everywhere and all the details taken care of so all I needed to do was walk.

the trip was a great value and the company was completely honest and up front in their pricing. I highly recommend them.

I have used this agency twice, once in june/july 2014 for a trek in the Upper Mustang area, Jomsom to Lo-Manthang, and once in december 2014 for a trek from Lukla to Island Peak and EBC/Kala Patthar.

The company's CEO, Karna Rana is incredibly service-minded and is very flexible and helpful in the planning process, and he will answer your e-mails in the blink of your eye.

Nepal mother house will arrange domestic air-tickets and other prepurchases beforehand, so you don't have to worry about anything other than the weather, and when that goes wrong they will find a way by bus or jeep.

In December 2014 I joined Nepal Mother House for a 14-day Tsum Valley trip. It was my first time in Kathmandu and really didn't know what to expect. My flight landed in Kathmandu on a dark cold night. Alone, confusion and worry were what have written on my face. But things got a little better the moment I saw Karna and his guide. As another reviewer has mentioned, Karna is very attentive and helpful. The quick response to all the emails is part of the reason why I chose this agency. The trip to Tsum Valley was one of the best Christmas presents I have given myself. Spending Christmas day in the wilderness and total disconnect from the rest of the world is one of the most amazing trips I can ever experience. The guide who is also my porter is very attentive. Although communication can be a minor problem overall I was happy with their service, especially the after-sales service that Karna has provided. Keep it up, Karna!"

This year i did my first trekking in Nepal: the Annapurna Circuit.
The agency:
After requesting information about the Annapurna Circuit trekking and comparing prices at several tourist offices in Kathmandu I came across the Nepal Mother House agency.
Karna, the friendly manager, gave a very clear explanation (his English is perfect by the way!) what i could expect to see and encounter on the trek and also advised me what to bring (which i really appreciated as a first-timer here).

The guide:
My guide Jayaram was simply perfect. He was great fun to do the Annapurna Circuit Trekking with, knew a lot about everything we encountered during the trek, and was very polite and helpful. He always arranged nice rooms in the nicest tea/ guesthouses and also other travelers mentioned that he was good guide. And just like Karna, his English was very good.

During the trek my friendly guide and Karna had contact by phone to make sure everything was still ok and whether I was still happy about my trek: they are really trying their best to make the trip as enjoyable as possible.

The price:
The price was very reasonable and the best out of the (6) agencies i visited. Other tourists i met were paying more for their guides than I did.

Overall:
Overall my trekking was wonderful and so was my guide. In future I'll do more trekking in Nepal and will definitely trek with this company again!

I did two treks with Nepal Mother House and highly recommend using this company. From initial contact Karna always replied to any email queries without delay. I did both the Poon Hill trek and Everest Base Camp and both guides and porters were awesome to trek with. They were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They were also very flexible with the itinerary.

During the Poon Hill trek I was particularly impressed and grateful with Karna and my guide Bibek. On the morning we were due to leave my partner broke the news that I was feeling ill and could not travel as planned. Karna was very accommodating and organised alternative travel arrangements for us to arrive in Pokhara. He even took my partner to a local pharmacy at 7am in the morning to buy me some medicine.

After reaching Everest Base Camp I started to experience symptoms of altitude sickness and my guide Kapil was very attentive and flexible with the itinerary when we decided to go down rather than continue to Cho La Pass. He is also fun to play cards with during the evenings in teahouses :).

My friend and I did the Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek with Nepal Mother House Treks and I would highly recommend it for others. I was surprised by Karna's fluency in English. Communication with him was very easy and his efficiency in arranging the trip was amazing.

Our guide and porter treated us like family members and did everything they can to make our trip more enjoyable. Although there are flaws at time, we could tell that they really are trying their best and its the thought that counts.

It was a really pleasant experience and I look forward to coming back to nepal and trekking with them again！

From first contact Karna was a pleasure to work with and organized everything very efficiently for us. I contacted a few companies in Kathmandu before our first trip to Nepal and Karna was able to give us the itinerary that we wanted (and suggested a few alterations to make it more efficient) at a price that we were comfortable with. He met us upon arrival at the airport in Kathmandu and outlined everything in detail with us so that we didn't have any surprises as far as what was included or not. By far, the highlight of our trip was our 5 day Ghorepani/Poon Hill trek. Our guide, Kapil, was amazing offering alternate routes while we were trekking in order to get the most out of our time. My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend Karna and Kapil to anyone travelling to Nepal, and will definitely be contacting him again for our next trip to the area.

Right from our first emails to Karna...we had a great smooth service from him. He was quick to reply, organised our trip in Manasalu Circuit, guide and porter, our permits. In addtion, Karna had experience of walking the trek we were going on so he was great at putting as our ease and advising us of an intinerary. I would highly recommend using his Trekking agency and if I return to Nepal (which I'd love to do) then I will be contacting him again.

We hired Nepal Mother House for a 13 day/2 person trek to Everest Base Camp. They were an excellent tour company. Very personable and very accommodating. The initial contact and set up of the trip with Karna was very easy. Our guide Bom was very helpful and very friendly and also very accommodating to our needs.

We experienced issues with weather and getting both to and from Lukla. Bom was able to arrange a helicopter (at additional cost of course) to get us both to and from Lukla to keep our schedules on EBC track. This was very important to us as Nepal was not the only country we were visiting. We also received a credit for the unused flights as soon as we returned to Kathmandu.

When were not feeling well or needed to take a break during the trek, there were no issues. We always felt we were in control of our trip. They arranged all our meals and places to stay. We had no issues with either of those as well.

Bom was also very friendly and often hung out and played cards and chatted with us once we arrived. He was very helpful in describing the areas and mountains during the trek.

I would highly recommend using Nepal Mother House.

I emailed a few agencies and Nepal Mother house was by far the most efficient with the best english.

Our Trip: We did a 11 day trek of the Langtang Valley.

Price: Our pack was the best price I could find out of about 5 agencies.

Our Guide/Porter: Bibbek and Barbarum were fantastic. Bibbek could work on speaking a little louder but his english will improve with experience. They supported us when needed and left us to do our own things when we wanted to too. 10 out of 10 for them!!

All in all, I would 100% use this agency again. They were fantastic!! I hope to come back again one day :)

From our first contact with Nepal Mother House by email, my husband & I felt we were in good hands. Karna Rana’s responses were swift and clear. The pricing was also very transparent. Karna came to meet us when we arrived in Kathmandu and, due to impending strikes in the city, it was necessary to change our plans to travel by jeep the following day, all of which was dealt with very efficiently and we were on the road in under 24 hours.

Our guide Prem & porter Rudra were both wonderful. Not only were they excellent at their jobs, but they were both such good company. Prem was extremely professional and did everything to make our journey comfortable and enjoyable, sorting out accommodation & food, even cooking when necessary. Rudra was always cheerful and very helpful, and we made a very happy group together.

We feel very privileged to have trekked the Manaslu Circuit & the Tsum Valley at a time when the area is only just starting to develop. It is a truly beautiful region and the local people were so friendly and welcoming. The trek itself was a challenging, but very rewarding.
We had expected to enjoy ourselves; we did not expect we would have such an amazing experience.

We would have no hesitation recommending Nepal Mother House to others, and we will use them again when we return.
